Nugget’s Pecan Pie
1 C Karo syrup
¾ C sugar
1 cube butter, melted
3 eggs, beaten lightly
1 tsp vanilla
¾ C pecan pieces
¾ C pecan halves
Mix syrup and sugar together, add melted butter, then eggs and vanilla. Let sit for 1 hour.
Make pie crust. To make one crust:
Combine with pastry blender till makes little balls – don’t overwork:
1 Cup of flour
½ tsp salt
1/3 Cup + 1 T Crisco
3T cold milk
Stir with a fork only until it clears the bowl. Form into a ball and then flatten out to roll out. Only roll from the center out, otherwise it overworks the dough. Fold gently in half and transfer to pie dish. Create fluted edge!
Put pecan pieces in bottom of crust, pour mixture over, arrange halves on top.
Bake 325 degrees convection oven or 350 regular oven, 45-50 minutes
